Why Brand Identity
Matters

Authority

Rebranded in 2025 from Bridge Gate High School, Empowered Tech High School offers real Career Technical Education — Business & Leadership, Health (CNA) with EKG, Phlebotomy, and STNA certifications, and a new Cybersecurity pathway built to meet the needs of Columbus and the state of Ohio.

Retention

Families stay because our small environment lets us build great relationships with every student and make them feel like part of what makes our school great. Free tutoring, small class sizes of 25-28, and staff who speak Somali and Spanish keep families connected.

Growth

With current enrollment of 36 against a target of 100 and total capacity of 200, Empowered Tech has substantial room to grow. Free transportation options and year-round, first-come-first-served enrollment remove the biggest barriers for Columbus families.

Positioning &
Strategy

Empowered Tech High School is the tuition-free public charter school for Columbus families who want more than a diploma — a small, close-knit environment with real Career Technical Education pathways that move students directly into successful, high-paying careers.

Strategic Anchors

"Empowering Your Path to Career Success"
"Small by Design. Known by Name."
"Real Credentials, Real Careers"
"Hands-On. Purpose-Driven."
"Free Transportation, Zero Barriers"
"Rigorous Academics. Real Relationships."

Top Parent Objections — Addressed

1
"Transportation is my biggest concern." — We offer private van transportation for students close to school, Southwestern City School busing, and free COTA bus passes for Columbus City School District families beyond our van routes.
2
"There aren't many extracurricular activities." — Students can join the Arts & Digital Media Club, Craftsperson Club, and Cosmetology Club, alongside real CTE pathways in Business, Health, and Cybersecurity.
3
"Academics come secondary here." — Our curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive, delivered by highly effective educators, with study hall office hours and small-group instruction so every student is supported academically.
4
"My child is unhappy at their current school." — Our small class-size environment lets us build real relationships and make every student feel like they're part of what makes our school great.
5
"Is this really a safe building?" — Our school remains locked at all times, secured with SafeSchool ID visitor registration, and every student is scanned with a metal detector and bag check each morning.

Identity

Empowered Tech High School logo on dark, on white chip

On Dark Background — White Chip (never inverted)

Clear Space

Maintain space equal to the logo mark height on all sides. Never crowd or clip the wolf mark or wordmark.

Non-Reversible Logo

This mark is full-color, not a silhouette — never apply an invert or brightness filter. On dark or busy backgrounds, always place it on a white or light card/chip instead.

Misuse

Do not stretch, rotate, recolor, or apply drop shadows or glows. Never place directly on the primary navy without a light background behind it.

Career Pathways in Action

Students engaged in CNA patient-care practice, cybersecurity labs, business simulations, and hands-on club activities. Prioritize natural classroom light, technology-focused settings, and authentic instructor-student moments. Avoid staged or stock-looking compositions — show the real work happening in Empowered Tech's CTE pathways every day.

Small, Close-Knit Community

Showcase the small, technology-focused campus community — family programs and festivals, quarterly achievement celebrations, and genuine staff-student connection. Images must reflect dignity and the small-school pride of a place where every student is known by name, not a large institution.

Voice &
Tone

01 — VOICE

Small by Design

Empowered Tech's voice always emphasizes closeness — every message should feel personal, never mass-produced, reflecting a school where students are genuinely known by name.

02 — VOICE

Career-Focused and Practical

Direct about outcomes — CNA, EKG, Phlebotomy, STNA, and Cybersecurity credentials. No inflated language. Families deserve clarity about exactly what their student will walk away with.

03 — VOICE

Confident About Rigor

Empowered Tech directly counters the misconception that academics come secondary. The voice affirms rigorous, comprehensive instruction without being defensive about it.

04 — VOICE

Community-Rooted

Speaks with Columbus families, not at them — embedded in the community, with staff who speak Somali and Spanish. The voice never talks down and never oversells.
